Avantika Singh is a sophomore at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she is pursuing a double major in journalism and history with a minor in creative writing. She currently serves as social media editor for The Daily Northwestern, after previously working as video editor. At The Daily, she is also a sports desk beat reporter and photographer, covering men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, lacrosse and more.

In addition to her newsroom work, Avantika is a digital content creator for Northwestern Undergraduate Admissions, producing short-form video content for the university’s TikTok account. Her previous experience includes serving as an editorial intern at Northwestern Magazine and working as an administrative assistant at Medill.

Avantika has experience across photography, social media, writing and video production. She is proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro and Lightroom, and has worked with platforms including Hootsuite, WordPress, Canva and CapCut.
